About Our Congregation...

        About Our Congregation

The Rochester congregation was started in 1956 as a planting by the Mentone congregation.  The orginal building was erected in 1957.  Since then we have had a constant leadership of elders and for the most part have had full-time ministers.

In 1998 we tripled the size of the present building to seat 200 in the auditorium and add a fellowship hall in back.  The downstairs has been converted into much needed extra classrooms and a new pre-school. In the near future we will be expanding our classroom area to accomodate our growth in Bible school our parking.

We have been blessed by God with good growth over the last few years both in member moving to our area and reaching into our community.  We average close to 115 on Sunday mornings now.

What Our Worship Service is Like:

Singing - we sing Acapella.  That is, we don't use instruments.  Most of our songs are hymns or praise songs.
Communion - We take communion every week to commemorate the death of our Savior and his sacrifice for our redemption.
Praying - We almost always begin and end our worship in prayer and often have prayers interspersed throughout our worship.
Giving - We offer our members an opportunity to support the needs of the church each week.  You are not expected to contribute unless you desire to.

        Mission Statement:

This congregation exists to glorify God by sharing the good news of Jesus with love and compassion in our community and beyond.

What Kind of Church Is The church of Christ?

A church that strives to follow Jesus and His teachings as best as we can.  We believe He is the Son of God and our Savior.

A church that has a sincere love for those around us and want all to enter Heaven.  We believe that people are added to God Kingdom when they are baptized.

A church that uses only the Bible for its basis of beliefs and teachings.  We use no other creed, set of rules, or edicts from another church.

We are self-governed and are led spiritually by our elders.
