On My Way to the Car Show

Denver Days  Car Show     8-8- 09

On August 8, Jay was on his way to the Denver Days car show in Denver, when his Mustang backfired a couple of times, then quit. He was almost to Denver, and he was overwhelmed by the number of folks who stopped to see if he was alright. Of course, he knew most of them, so he was a little embarrassed. However, the car wouldn't start, so a friend towed  him the rest of the way into Denver with his 4-wheeler and a tow strap. Another friend from the garage in Denver tried a new coil, but that wasn't the problem. All the guys decided it must be the ignition module, so they called the auto parts stores in Peru, but no one had one in stock. So, the guys decided to push the Mustang down to the Car Show, anyway. More friends there took over, and Dennis Barnhisel even took his car home from the show to Gilead, and returned with his trailer and brought Jay and the Mustang home to Peru after the show. What great friends! Jay managed to get an ignition module the next day, and the Mustang started right up. So, the story has a happy ending. We both want to thank everyone for all their help and concern. Charles Barger even found an internet site that showed exactly where the module went, so Jay could take it out and install it. That was great! You never know how many friends you have until you need them, and our cup runneth over! You guys are great. Thanks a million. Jay and Ann Powell
