A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

Hope Hospice is the only hospice program located in Fulton County. Hope Hospice is a not-for-profit, community-based organization whose goal is to provide comfort for the dying and to preserve dignity at the end of life. We care for our patients in their homes -- this may be a residence or a nursing home.

Through a wide range of services, Hope Hospice serves all of Fulton County and other nearby counties. No one is ever charged for our services. Costs are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and community donations. Also, we provide all medications related to the terminal illness and all needed durable medical equipment.

Studies have shown hospice care to be no more costly - and frequently less expensive - than traditional care during the last six months of life. This is because less high-cost technology is used and family, friends and volunteers provide much of the day-to-day patient care at home.

When To Call Hope Hospice

Call early! Hope Hospice can provide many months of care. The care giver in the home will have help, and Hospice care is most effective when there is time to learn about the needs and desires of patients and families.

Much can be done to help prevent pain and other distressing symptoms for patients. Families can learn about the services that are available and make plans for the future. A Hope Hospice staff member can provide more information or a consultation visit.

Helping Families Care For Terminally Ill Patients At Home

Hope Hospice is an Indiana-Licensed, Medicare-certified organization providing comprehensive hospice services to patients of all ages facing a life-limiting illness and their families. Hospice services enhance the quality of life and assist the whole family with the patient's physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs in a home setting. Care also extends beyond the death of the patient through bereavement services to family and friends.

How To Arrange Services

If you know of a seriously ill person, please call Brenda Purkey, RN, CHPN at the Hope Hospice office, (574) 224-4673, and give that person’s name to her. Brenda will contact the family and the patient’s doctor to see if the patient qualifies for hospice care.
