     Note: Joseph LaFollette settled in New Jersey, and there in 1772 married Miss Phobe Goble.
     Joseph and Phobe moved early with the migration to Hardin County, Kentucky. In the Autum of
     1828, Joseph LaFollette, accompanied by his son, Jesse, moved to Putnam County, Indiana, and
     died there in 1834. He served as a private in Captain Henry Belkin's Troop of Light Dragoons in
     General Cornet Pulaski's Division, was mustered in at Morristown, N.J., on April 1, 1780, for
     three years. (Records in office of the Adjutant General of War Department,Washington, D. C.) A
     bronze marker in the court-house at Greencastle, Indiana, bears his name as a soldier of the
     American Revolution.
